  • Penny, I want to personally book you for all of this in my town of Cambridge, MA! I wonder, do your demographics suggest that towns with highly diverse take-out and restaurant options are easier or harder for social dieters? If I see something to eat I don’t know the name of, and I want it, I tend towards assigning it a very low calorie count. Not always accurate. I would love to see a presentation on choosing well from among multi-culti options.

    Love all this!

  • admin:

Thanks for your comment, Elatia. I would love to visit you in Cambridge, MA. Demographics play an interesting role in food choices. There was a study that showed proximity to fast food, meant, eating more fast food. However, with proximity to restaurants with good options, the wise and savvy SocialDieter can eat quite well. The trick is, as you suggest, learning how to evaluate the options. Look for more posts on evaluating the choice options of various ethnic foods.
